Bode Donovan just can’t catch a break. Fire Country Season 4 keeps throwing emotional curveballs his way. He first lost his father, Vince, then watched Gabriela, his ex, walk out of his life. Now this week’s episode hits him with another gut punch. Bode has to say goodbye again, this time to someone who played a huge part in helping him get his life back on track.

Audrey parts ways with Bode in Fire Country, leaving room for a return

In Fire Country Season 4, Episode 4, fans are presented with one of the most emotional goodbyes yet between Bode (Max Thieriot) and Audrey (Leven Rambin).

The episode kicked off with Manny confronting Bode about the pills found in his locker, something he had learnt from Audrey. In response, Bode called her a “narc” (via soaps.sheknows.com).

However, he’s been going through a lot of late. Bode is still grieving his father, trying to prove himself, and constantly being watched by Battalion Chief Richards. Luckily, Manny stood up for him, and Bode cleared his name after passing the drug test.

Bode later swallowed his pride and apologized to Audrey, bringing a little peace between them. Their reunion didn’t last long before it turned emotional. Audrey opened up about her own battles, admitting that even being around the pills had stirred up old urges and reminded her how shaky her recovery still felt.

She told Bode that coming back to Edgewater brought back tough memories and that her progress is starting to slip away.

“Us is not the problem. Nothing was ever broken there.” She added, “It’s just that staying clean feels so fragile right now. And I’m just scared that being fragile together would sink us. So I think we gotta get through this apart,” Audrey said. Later, she revealed she was transferring to Station 58, and this means she and Bode had to part ways, at least for now.

Further, Audrey left Bode and fans with one final spark of hope by saying, “Win me back. We love a romantic comeback.” So, there’s a chance that Audrey will return to the firehouse down the line.

Bode also took a big step in the right direction this week. After Audrey’s exit, he flushed the pills and decided to stay clean for good.
